This year's BLSA Month theme is "Justice Like a Flood." Inspired by scripture, specifically Amos 5:24, and championed by the late Martin Luther King, Jr, this theme highlights the unwavering duty of individual citizens, professionals, and brothers and sisters in Christ to seek justice for all mankind. The measure of our professional success will not be found in our material gains, but in the ways in which we zealously advocate for the preservation of the fundamental and natural rights of every man from all backgrounds.

On February 24, 2017, we are hosting our annual BLSA Banquet to present the Dr. Joyce Plummer Making Black History Award. This year, we will be recognizing the Honorable Raymond A. Jackson, District Court Judge of the Eastern District of Virginia, and Regent Law alumnus Mr. Toussaint Romain, Mecklenburg County Public Defender — two recipients who embody the courage, bravery, and spirit of the Black Law Students Association.

*Doors open at 7:00 pm. A buffet dinner, accompanied by live musical entertainment, will be served. Tickets may only be purchase online through Eventbrite, and will not be available for purchase at the door.

— But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream
